I recently flew from Newark to Houston on United flight UA1161. United totally trashed my brand new suitcase.

It was the first time I used it. They ripped off the side. It is unusable. When I talked to personnel in the baggage office I was told "United doesn't cover seams." Huh????

I want to be reimbursed for my suitcase ($75.00) and my baggage fee ($25.00) for a total of $100.00. I do not want a travel voucher. I want reimbursement so I can go buy a replacement suitcase.

I have pictures of the suitcase and a dated sales receipt for the suitcase. Come on United, do the right thing.

Product or Service Mentioned: United Airlines Baggage Policy.

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $100.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

I didn't like: Your business model, Incompetent and unenabled personnel to solve problems, Employees make up rules and policies as they go, Employees do not agree with written policies on your website, United does not accept responsibility for damage you caused.

Don't buy cheap luggage next time.

Don't blame anyone else because you bought cheap luggage.

United did the right thing - they told you to buzz off.

Happens all the time. I always use older luggage when flying as the airlines just don't care anymore.
