I recently flew from Newark to Houston on United flight UA1161. United totally trashed my brand new suitcase.

It was the first time I used it. They ripped off the side. It is unusable. When I talked to personnel in the baggage office I was told "United doesn't cover seams." Huh????

I want to be reimbursed for my suitcase ($75.00) and my baggage fee ($25.00) for a total of $100.00. I do not want a travel voucher. I want reimbursement so I can go buy a replacement suitcase.

I have pictures of the suitcase and a dated sales receipt for the suitcase. Come on United, do the right thing.

Don't buy cheap luggage next time.

Don't blame anyone else because you bought cheap luggage.

United did the right thing - they told you to buzz off.


Happens all the time. I always use older luggage when flying as the airlines just don't care anymore.
