EWR (NJ) direct to POS (Trinidad). The United Club was unfortunate and so was the outdated 737-800 (UA1505) that took us to our Christmas vacation. Save your money folks, and fly coach. This class of service is not worth the extra cost. I would say the worst part about flying United is the unenthusiastic and unhelpful service. No big surprise to anyone who flies United regularly.

In conjunction with this flight, I also erroneously bought a Premier and Reward Accelerator, thinking that I would maintain my Status Match level with this flight. The "fine print" here, is that the Accelerator is NOT permitted in achieving status, if you're doing a Match. But their web site will continually advertise it to you, like it is. You will then be allowed to buy this product but have no options for an equitable exchange (like bonus miles or a credit) when you realize that it's a dud. I lost $427. Don't make my mistake. Their customer service will do nothing unless you badger them and continually state your case. I made four torturously long calls trying to correct my mistake after realizing what I had done. In their defense (?), they did offer me a $100 certificate after my third online attempt...but I needed to agree in desisting from further attempts to resolve this matter. I decided to decline their offer and came here to share my experience with you.

Had I read someone's review of their subterfuge, I would have saved myself the trouble. Taking your money and giving you nothing in return is a terrible business model.

Monetary Loss: $875.

Location: Newark, New Jersey
