United wants me to pay them 1,649 dollars to get my status upgraded to silver. Somehow I never seem to qualify for seat upgrades so about the only advantage is not paying for my bag.
I would have to fly 30 times over the next year to make this a break even proposition. I can only assume that United does not want me as a customer anymore.
If that is the case, and given the almost daily reports of how they have had a mechanical problem or have disrespected a customer, I shall be avoiding United Airlines in future. Makes me long for the days of Continental before United screwed them up.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
I didn't like: Rarely on time, Staff treat you like cattle, Price to upgrade to silver is ridiculous, Seat room is derisory, Food is garbage.
