I recently traveled to Boston with five other family members. On the last return flight from Chicago to YVR where we had an hour and ten minute delay, my mother and I received poor customer service.

We sat in economy class and the flight attendant did not seem to be in a good mood which came off in his service. My mother had asked for water twice during the delay to the Caucasian male flight attendant, as she was thirsty. During the first drink service, Paul a second male flight attendant missed my order and didn't get my mom's order right so I politely said, โ€œexcuse meโ€ as he was about to serve the next row. I had to say excuse me twice in order to get his attention, which he seemed to ignore. He gave slight attitude in taking my order which led the other flight attendant to declare that he would get me my tea and juice. Paul acted snooty and did not seem like he wanted to be there.

Later, my mom went to use the washroom and Paul kicked her bathroom door hard when she had not locked the door properly. When she returned from the washroom she was very upset and told me what the nasty flight attendant did to her. I pushed the service bell for him to come and asked him why he did that to my mother. He pretended like he could not hear me and put his hand to his ear for me to speak louder which I had to increase my voice twice for him to hear even though he had no problem hearing others. He told me that he kicked it to close the door, I told him that you close the door from inside not from kicking it which will open the door. I told him that is very rude behavior and that there is a better way to notify a person that they did not lock the door and that it is perverted disrespectful behavior. My mother is in her late fifties and requires reading glasses to be able to see the proper signage to lock the door. I asked him to give me his information I will report him. Instead he went to the back of the plane and was giggling with two other passengers behind me.

Paul escalated the situation by stating he could not understand my mom as she has an accent, he continued to say she has a strong accent, which she does not โ€“ she works with surgeonsโ€™ doctors and nurses, yet they do not have a problem understanding her. I said, โ€œyes, this country is full of immigrants, this plane is full of them, big deal, you also have an accent. We can all still understand English.โ€

I had complained about his service to the female flight attendant and to the Caucasian male flight attendant who said he knew nothing of the matter and to write a report; yet, he would not give me the name of the other flight attendant (Paul). He told me to go to the back of the plane and speak to him to get his information. He then later sided with Paul and came back twice to tell us that if this escalated further he will file a level two against me, all I did was stick up for my mom's rights, I told him he was turning the situation around and I asked three times politely for the flight attendants information as I was going to file a report against him. I never asked the other attendant to come back twice to discuss the situation since initially he did not want to give me any information and acted like he did not want to get involved, even though I saw him in the back while my mother came out of the washroom. We were very dissatisfied with the ending of a wonderful trip to Boston for a family members wedding, all due to nasty customer service from two flight attendants.

I hope this situation does not go dismissed and something is done about the poor service we received by these two attendants. As of now, I feel I will choose another airline that has always treated us with proper customer service on the next upcoming trip.

Maybe the flight attendant should not be such a ***, and use some customer service skills. Wait, my guess is you work for them.
